The Most Essential Twenty Minutes of Your Day!

Listen I know you are busy! Life is moving fast and you have to keep up. You have places to be, people to please, and things to achieve. I get it. You can not afford to be disliked, unsuccessful, or left behind. You are stressed, and you are anxious. You don’t have time. I truly understand.

But I need one favour, just one. I need you to close your eyes and take a deep breath. No need to judge or resist. Just let go and breathe.

Now that I have your attention let me tell you what you CANNOT afford to do. You can not afford to skip “me time”. You heard me right! Twenty minutes a day of “me time” is essential and absolutely necessary.

You see, you are the biggest blessing you have. Yes, you!!! Your body, mind and soul. These three are your best friends for life. They will stay with you through thick and thin; good and bad; the ups and downs of life. So you need to become your own best friend. You need to learn and appreciate each of these parts of you and establish an amazing relationship with all three. This is only possible when you sit in solitude and are able to connect with yourself and listen to your own thoughts.

You are a unique, one of a kind specimen unlike any other on this earth. So before you go into the big, scary world and try to fit into the moulds created by society; it is essential that you get to know who you are, and what your purpose in life is. Learn about yourself, establish and honour yourself. That is what that daily 20 minutes of solitude will do for you.

If you were to go on a trip, you would do your research and make an itinerary. You would make a list of places you want to see, people you want to meet, the food you want to try and experiences you want to have. Yet, here you are on this amazing journey of life, letting everyone and everything else be in control. You are trying to follow the paths created by those before you without knowing and acknowledging who you are and what is important to you. Sitting in the quiet and creating a clear plan of action will help you create and live your own authentic life.

To begin, you will need a quiet space away from all distractions, soft music, a notebook or journal and a pen. When you are ready then you can continue to the next page.

Love this! I immediately took action and grabbed one of my notebooks so I can answer 5 questions! What a great exercise for “me time!”
