Cyndia Mondésir is a 21-year-old black feminist leader with a deep commitment to positive and progressive social change. She is an activist, a survivor, and a writer that studies Communications and Women’s Studies, at the University of Ottawa. Beginning her career in grassroots and non-profit communities allowed her to build on a network of like-minded feminist leaders who are also invested in engaging and supporting young people and others, using an intersectional lens. She currently works with the Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women, and the Feminist Alliance for International Action to advance gender equality research and advocacy. She is fuelled by compassion, curiosity, and dissatisfaction with the status quo, and is looking forward to continuing her journey in creating a positive impact and to empower those around her.
