Empower'em is committed to making our website and portal usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities.
What we've built so far
- ·Screen reader and keyboard navigation support across the site
- ·Color contrast that meets accessibility standards
- ·Text size controls, so you're not stuck relying on browser zoom
- ·Reduced motion support for anyone sensitive to animation
- ·Plain language wherever we can manage it, especially on our applications and policies
- ·Translation support in multiple languages, including French, though we're honest that auto-translation isn't always perfect
Where we're still working
We're a small team, and we're not going to pretend this is finished. Captions for our workshop recordings, deeper testing with real assistive technology, and a fuller review of our forms are all still ahead of us.
Translation
Our translation feature is auto-generated, not reviewed by a human translator for every language. We're honest about that because we'd rather you know than assume something is fully accurate when it might not be. If anything is unclear, contact us in English and we'll help directly.
